The Student Startup and Innovation Policy 2.0 (SSIP 2.0) is a flagship initiative launched by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat. Administered efficiently under GUSEC, the program is tailored to fund university testing frameworks, prototyping models, and patent filings for student innovators.
SSIP 2.0 actively nurtures an inclusive student innovation culture across educational institutions, empowering young creators to transform academic ideas and research projects into market-ready commercial ventures.

Funding Tiers & Investment Instruments
Financial configurations under SSIP 2.0 are structured to assist students across different validation and commercialization milestones:
Proof-of-Concept Grant
Financial assistance to purchase raw materials, testing components, and hardware kits required to build working prototype models.
Patent & IP Support
Complete financial support for domestic (up to ₹1 Lakh) and international (up to ₹3 Lakhs) intellectual property and patent registration processes.
Eligibility Requirements
- Any currently enrolled student (School/College/University) or recent graduate (up to 5 years from graduation) from Gujarat.
- The proposal must represent an original creative idea, research model, or innovative technological prototype.
- Applications must be routed through or backed by recognized educational institutes or university incubation centers like GUSEC.
