Scheme Overview

The NIDHI Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) scheme is a structured fellowship framework initiated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Hosted at GUSEC, it provides financial risk mitigation for promising founders working on conceptual stage tech innovations.

By providing a monthly financial cushion along with dedicated incubation resources, the fellowship allows inspiring creators to commit full-time to turning breakthrough technological ideas into viable commercial products.

Fellowship & Grant Support Details

The fellowship provides monthly operational sustainability to lower personal risk during concept design:

Monthly Fellowship

EIR Monthly Stipend

Up to ₹30,000 / mo

Sustenance grant paid monthly for up to 12 months (Total up to ₹3.6 Lakhs) to help founders focus 100% on building their venture.

Incubation Support

Lab & Mentorship Access

Co-Working & Labs

Free access to GUSEC lab infrastructure, prototyping machinery, cloud credits, and technical industry mentors.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Indian citizens with a formal degree in science, engineering, technology, or business administration.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a scalable, technology-based innovative business idea with commercial potential.
  • Fellows must commit full-time to the EIR program and cannot be employed or pursuing other academic programs concurrently.
